5 Youtube Channels Every DJ/Producer Should Subscribe to improve music production skills

From tutorials and how-to videos, to virtual studio visits with the biggest producers, YouTube holds much more value than just funny cat videos. It is a great place for music artists to learn about tips and tricks, the latest product reviews, and general music production knowledge.

Future Music Magazine
If you’ve never heard of Future Music, maybe you’ve heard of their very popular “In The Studio” series, a behind-the-scenes look with some of the biggest artists in the world from Swedish House Mafia to Dada Life, giving you their tips and tricks on music production. Future Music also recently started a new video series called “The Track” which is very similar to their “In The Studio” series. Each “On The Track” episode has an artist break down one of their productions. So if you fancy getting tips and how-to’s from the biggest artists in dance music, this is a great channel to tune into.

Computer Music Magazine
You can have great talent and a great ear, but you still have to know how to make those ideas come to life. The Computer Music YouTube channel is definitely one of the best places to learn how to do that. From sampling to music theory, Computer Music covers a large area of music production. A must-watch for all the talented music producers looking to set themselves apart.

Loopmasters
Music is sound – so to make music you need to be good at making sounds. And what better place to get advice from than one of the best sound makers in audio production, Loopmasters. They put out amazing tutorials from stacking samples, to vocal stretching, and more. Also, you get to keep up to date with the sample packs they are releasing.

Point Blank Music School
Voted best electronic music school by DJ Mag, Point Blank is a global music school that teaches the creative process of making music at the highest level. Some of their alumni include Claude VonStroke, Nicole Moudaber, Leona Lewis, AlunaGeorge, Patrick Topping and more. If you’re looking to learn music production from the experts, this is the place.

Music Production Tutorials
Looking for tutorials on specific techniques and styles of music production? Then this is your channel. They produce excellent videos on everything from arranging, to compression, to composition.  The great thing with this channel is they are very detailed with their tutorials. From specific DAWS, to in depth tutorials on specific techniques.
